Shopping and Building on a budget

Howdy Y’all! I wanted to share my projects and hopefully save you all time and money!

Last time I was measuring for a 20’x20’ Shop, in the shade. I need to clear out this corner lot. I’ll start trimming with a regular limb cutter, normally called a HANDLE LOPPER (Husky 2-Piece Garden Tool Set || Corona 19-in Carbon steel Bypass Lopper).

As the limbs get thicker, I’ll pull out my SAWZALL (CRAFTSMAN 7.5 -Amp Variable Speed Reciprocating Saw || RYOBI RJ186V 12 Amp Reciprocating Saw).

Eventually, I will need my CHAINSAW (Black + Decker 14 in. 8 AMP Corded Electric Chainsaw || CRAFTSMAN 14-in Corded Electric 8-Amp Amp Chainsaw) for the thicker trunks. See my links. I actually used my Electrical Chainsaw for this job. No reason to pull out the BIG, GAS Gun yet. LOL! My gas and oil powered chainsaw. LOL!

I mention all my local retailers and AMAZON because I want to save you MONEY, but I also want to give you a choice. If time is of essence, I go to LOWES or HOME DEPOT because they are closer. If Maria finds a deal on AMAZON and she can get it delivered, I’ll take it! LOL! Again, click on my Links to save yourself time and MONEY (OFF! Deep Woods Insect Repellent , GroundWork 4 cu. ft. 800 lb. Capacity Steel Utility Cart, Skylinewears Men cargo pants), and don’t forget the bug spray. Stay safe and unbitten. I prefer OFF (OFF Deep Woods All Purpose Outdoor Bug Spray), but any repellent with enough deet will work and are available at any of my retailers.

BURNING OF THE TRUNKS, SAFELY: Lucky for me, we have three boys. They helped me haul off the brush. My GORILLA work wagon came in real handy. You will see other brands on other links. The boys enjoyed the burning of the trunks. LOL! Boys and FIRE…”Sometimes, you just got to wonder.”

For fire safety, please make sure to dig down and around the trunks, creating a “pit”. Keep a good, charged, Fire Extinguisher close (Kidde Home and Workshop Fire-Extinguisher || Amazon || Sunnyside 1 Gal. Kerosene). Use a good KEROSENE (Klean-Strip Kerosene Heater Fuel). NO “Gasoline”. Please…remember, SAFETY FIRST! Kerosene will burn slow, consistent and can be purchased at any of my Retailers. Yes, even AMAZON will deliver kerosene. I left about 140 of those bricks in the ground, from a previous project. (I had a brick, laid driveway in that area shown) My old Nissan sat perfectly in that spot. I sold that car after it paid its dues. She was great, but it was time for her to go. If my measuring is correct, that 10 foot, wide roll up door should sit right in front of those bricks in the ground.

SHOPPING FOR MY SHOP: Seems I can’t find the perfect Shop that I like, for the right price. I want a 20’x20’ metal shop, 10’ wide, 7’ high roll up door, no windows and a side door to the left of the roll up door, exactly as I drafted my plan. I tried Midland, Odessa, the whole Permian Basin, West Texas, oh my, the “whole” State of Texas. 🙁 Whether you're a TEXAS guy like me or not, you may find my story interesting. I finally purchased the Shop from a nice guy named Zach. Zach is a Salesman in “North Carolina”. AAAAH! 😡Really???!!!

CHOICE METAL BUILDINGS is the company that Zach works for. Again, Zach is a very nice guy, but WHY? WHY? Can I not buy my Shop from a Company in TEXAS? 😡
